Free Fall

Free Fall isn't a very
long read: It doesn't contain a single word, actually. But it is an intriguing
picture book that deserves to be looked at at least twice. I personally
have "read" it many times since I first found it when I was
seven.
The book is simply a series of shifting
pictures. The only constant is a boy in pajamas who appears in each scene;
the book is actually his dream.
Free Fall isn't as
well illustrated as some of David Wiesner's later books, but the gradually
changing scenes are fascinating and unique, and it is one of the best
attempts to portray a dream in pictures I have ever seen. It really captures
the feel of a dream. Free Fall is truly a neat book worth a look
for readers of any age.
