The Worst-Case Scenario
Handbook is actually a handbook, not a story, but it is a lot of fun
none the less. It has illustrated instructions on what to do in all sorts
of worst-case situations; for example, how to escape from quicksand, how
to win a sword fight, how to leap from a motorcycle to a car (while both
are moving), and of course, how to survive if your parachute fails to
open.
This book is moderately useless
in that most readers won't be attacked by sharks or have to land a plane,
but it is an interesting read. This book and its sequel, The Worst-Case
Scenario Survival Handbook: Travel, are a lot of fun just to browse
through, and who knows-- it might just come in handy!
